Meet up at 9:45 am at Buehler Shelter at Bond Park, and hear from Rep. David Price, Ty, and local elected officials. Then you'll fan out across Cary, knocking on doors and telling Cary voters about their great Representative. Afterwards, come back to the park to hang out with Ty and fellow supporters, share canvassing stories, and eat some hot dogs and burgers!

Featuring special guest speaker, former Marine Captain, Jon Kuniholm. Jon was injured in Iraq while serving as a platoon leader in a battalion of as few as 650 marines, who were trying to gain control of areas overrun with insurgents. You may have seen Jon speak at Invesco Field in Denver just a few hours before Barack Obama's acceptance speech.

We are all very excited to have Jon Kuniholm join us and are looking forward to hearing why he and many other soldiers support Barack Obama for President.

Jerry Meek, NCDP Chair, and Senator Walter Dalton, candidate for Lt. Governor are also expected to make an appearance.

Open Forum for State and Local Candidates

Elections are important. While most of attention has been on the presidential race, we should not neglect our state and local candidates. In this most important election since the Great Depression, we need informed and open-minded voters.

Tuesday evening, October 21 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM., an open forum for Republican, Democratic and Libertarian state and local candidates will be held at the Glenaire Retirement Center. Candidates will have five minutes to present their positions on the issues. During this time, the audience will write their questions on cards. The moderator, Linda Gunter, will then address the questions to the candidates. This event is being sponsored by Cary Precinct 04-01.

The Candidate Forum will be held at Glenaire Retirement Center, 4000 Glenaire Circle, Cary. Please park in any space not reserved for residents. Refreshments will be served following the event.

Democrats will make themselves conspicuous at Holly Springs' annual Holly Fest in Womble Park. With sponsors Ed Ridpath and the Western Wake Democrats, we will be promoting Early Voting, handing out voter guides and meeting hundreds of voters.
